On January 1st, 2022, the Federal Communications Commission launched the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) with $14.2 billion in funding designed to help American households pay for the monthly cost of their Internet subscription. Eligible households get $30/month to help defray the cost of service, and up to $100 for an Internet-capable device to get online. Qualifying households on Tribal land can receive up to $75/month for service, reflecting the higher cost of connectivity in Indian Country. On August 5th, the commission announced the launch of an outreach program designed to boost awareness and participation.
